In “Business affectivity (financial series), the 8552 unit again approaches the progressive recognition of business affectivity and effectiveness. In a proposal that is characterised by the impossibility of any interaction whatsoever by the spectator, we are embarked on the involuntary browsing of web pages of banks and financial institutions from all over the world. The effect is as if we were looking at the screen of another person’s computer or perhaps, what the person's eyes perceive from this screen. In this browsing or transit, which we might well call a "documentary videoweb", we will leave aside the offers for mortgages or other financial products to perceptively signal the affective traces that appear on the pages. The claims and slogans of closeness and proximity will be constantly highlighted, as well as the promises of wellbeing and work for happiness and, in general, all of the representations that make up the “emotional marketing” that is characteristic of one of the most dominant forms of biopolitical production and therefore, that has the greatest control over the ways of life and lifestyles of modern societies (the financial form of production). On a more specific basis than in their previous series, the unit 8552 develops here a revealing approximation to how the economic systems try to extract a surplus from life, a corporate profit obtainable in life and from life, exposing how society and economic power have already established an integrated, qualitative relationship, how the exploitation of subjects takes place now in the increasingly lucrative regulation of their ways of life, life dynamics and personal and affective interactions, emotions, consumer habits and satisfaction. There is certainly no doubt that domination has become more diffuse, inherent to the social body and permanently interiorised in the latter.
